The registrations are rolling in and we want to give you the chance to take advantage of our early-bird registration rates. So we've extended our Early-Bird Deadline until Monday, May 11th.
The 5th InterpretAmerica Summit is shaping up beautifully. After sorting through the great session proposals, we published our full program in April and it's chock full of relevant and hard-to-find programming addressing the most urgent issues in our field. You can see a nice review of the program and other Summit information in our recent blog post We Asked. You Answered. The InterpretAmerica 5 Program Is Complete! We are excited and honored by the expertise our speakers, instructors, sponsors and vendors will be sharing.
So I’ve been asking myself, given the changes in how interpretation services are being delivered…where will the true value of the interpreter be and who will be successful?
This quote comes Keynote Speaker Jonathan Levy, who teased his presentation in an absorbing interview for last week's blog. Few individuals are better positioned in our field to see what's coming down the pike in terms of interpreter training, the introduction of new technologies, and what the market is likely to ask for. His answers start to tackle the thorny dilemma our field faces in many arenas where what our clients want doesn't always match what we want or can provide.
Stay tuned for a second blog teasing our other Keynote Speaker, Jost Zetsche's presentation.
When you attend the Summit, you will get to be part of timely and critical conversations taking shape around newly proposed interpreter fee schedules for Workers Comp and medical interpreters in California.
We could go on, but we'd rather continue the conversation in person with you at the 5th InterpretAmerica Summit this June in Monterey, California.
Many thanks to our Diamond Sponsors, Cyracom, Williams Sound and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey for their generous support of the 5th InterpretAmerica Summit.
